I came across this house on my way to get some pictures of the capitol. The first thing I thought of when I saw it was 1313 Mockingbird Lane. It made me curious as to what the history of it might be, so I looked it up when I got back to the hotel. Alfred McCune started construction in 1898 and finished in 1901 at a cost of 1 Million Dollars. Over the years there have been a few owners of this mansion and in 1999 the McCarthey family purchased the mansion and rent it out for weddings, anniversaries, celebrations, board meetings, retreats and other important occasions.
I spotted this little cabin by the lake while heading back to the dock to catch a boat back to Chelan. It just looked like the perfect place to put your feet up with a good glass of wine and enjoy the view.
The Icicle Gorge hiking trail is very nice way to spend an afternoon. Until this spring the road to get to the trail head had been closed for years. I wanted to get some new pictures of fall so I headed up and see if anything had changed. I was happy to see that it was just as beautiful as it was years ago.
Another one of my shots from the Evergreen Flight and Space Museum.
Every year in Plain, Wa. they have a Civil War Reenactment. It is the last reenactment that this group performes for the year. Durring the hour long reenactment I went back to where the canons were and was lucky enough to catch one of them firing.
